Characteristics

  1. The whole syllabus is divided into 3 parts:

Part A: Theoretical & Practical Subjects

Part B: Teacher’s Personality

Part C: Internship

  1. Some new subjects have been included in the syllabus that is as follows:

2.1) New Trends in Education: inclusion of educational changes at the national & international level, central and government educational plans

English/Marathi Language Proficiency: to gain skills in reading, conversation, speech & writing in English for Marathi medium students

2.2) Computer Operations & Applications: to make every primary teacher tech-savvy according to central government “Digital India Scheme”

2.3) Yoga Education: to make understand the Importance of yoga in life as complementary to the national level efforts in spreading & research in yoga

2.4) Teacher’s Personality: to gain mastery over subjects, to develop teaching-learning skills, professional integrity, mannerisms, social responsibilities in students, etc.

  1. Inclusion of new things in an internship are as follows:

3.1) Internship programme for F.Y. & S.Y. D.El.Ed. Students: 9 weeks 2 days

3.2) Inclusion of practice lessons, primary teacher’s lessons observation and discussion, to check reading, writing and calculation ability of school students, to prepare, conduct and analysis of diagnostic test and criterion-referenced test

3.3) Practice lessons based on constructivist approach, 2 lessons based on ABL, 2 lessons on the use of ICT

3.4) Conduction and analysis of tests based on basic skills of school subjects for S.Y.D.El.Ed. students

3.5) Practice yoga and English conversation for school students

3.6) Open “education laboratory” by social surveying of school premises

  1. Evaluation of syllabus based on 40% external & 60% internal assessment
  2. Teaching & Learning of subjects from Std. I–V for F.Y.D.El.Ed. & from Std. VI-VIII for S.Y.D.El.Ed. students
  3. Consideration of criteria and guiding principles given by National Teacher Council (NCTE)
  4. Use of advanced technique of rubrics for the subject ‘teacher personality’ is suggested
  5. Online evaluation system and biometry system for the presence of students is suggested
